Root Canal

After your tooth is numb, Dr. Douglas will create an opening at the top of the tooth so she can access the pulp. The infection is eliminated as the dental pulp is removed. The inside of the tooth is then disinfected and filled with dental material for support.

"Since patients are given anesthesia, a root canal isn’t more painful than a regular dental procedure, such as a filling or getting a wisdom tooth removed."
*American Association of Endodontists

Anesthesia

Before removing the infection in your pulp, Dr. Douglas will administer a local anesthetic in the area around your infected tooth.

Crown

After the root canal is clear of infection, a dental crown is usually placed on the remaining tooth structure. Crowns are tooth-shaped prosthetics that cover and protect the tooth. Our CEREC technology can create a crown for you the same day as your root canal procedure, completing your treatment and fitting in one visit.
